Impact Prototyping(“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates an online store for 3D printed products and custom order requests. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and the choices you have. This policy is intended for customers and visitors in the United States.

Privacy at a Glance

  • We collect the information needed to run the store: account details, order details, shipping information, support messages, quote requests, and newsletter signups.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers or card security codes on our servers.
  • We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for third-party advertising.
  • You can contact us at contact@impactprototyping.com to request access, correction, deletion, or unsubscribe help.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

  • Account information: your name, email address, password, account profile details, and login activity.
  • Order information: product selections, variants, quantities, shipping address, order totals, order status, tracking number, and customer support notes related to your order.
  • Custom quote and contact information: your name, email address, project details, dimensions, requested quantity, color preferences, subject lines, and message content submitted through contact or custom order forms.
  • Newsletter information: your email address and signup time if you join our email list.
  • Payment-related information: payment intent identifiers, payment status, order amount, and limited payment metadata from Stripe. Full card numbers and security codes are processed by Stripe and are not stored on our servers.

We also collect some information automatically when you use the website:

  • Device and usage information: IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, timestamps, referring pages, and similar technical information used for security, troubleshooting, fraud prevention, and site performance.
  • Cart and preference storage: items in your cart and newsletter popup dismissal settings stored in your browser.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Process and fulfill your orders
  • Create and manage customer accounts
  • Calculate order totals, shipping, and product options
  • Process payments and respond to payment events
  • Send order confirmations and administrative order alerts
  • Respond to contact forms, support requests, and quote requests
  • Manage custom order discussions and production planning
  • Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the website
  • Detect fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, or technical issues
  • Comply with tax, accounting, legal, and business obligations

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information for third-party advertising. We also do not use customer order data to train artificial intelligence models.

3. How We Share Information

We share information only as needed to run the store, fulfill orders, protect the business, or comply with the law. This may include sharing information with:

  • Service providers that host the website, store data, process payments, send emails, or help us fulfill orders.
  • Shipping carriers or fulfillment partners when needed to deliver an order.
  • Professional advisors such as accountants, legal advisors, or tax preparers when needed for business records.
  • Government authorities or other parties when required by law, legal process, fraud prevention, security, or to protect our rights and customers.
  • A successor organization if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of business assets.

4. Third-Party Services

We use third-party services to operate the website and store. Their handling of information is also governed by their own privacy and security terms:

  • Supabase: database and authentication services for accounts, profiles, product data, orders, submissions, and admin access.
  • Stripe: payment processing, payment status, fraud prevention, and payment-related records. Stripe handles card data directly.
  • Amazon SES: transactional email delivery, including order confirmations and admin notifications.
  • Vercel: website hosting and delivery.
  • Shipping carriers: delivery and tracking for fulfilled orders.

5. Cookies & Local Storage

Our website uses cookies and browser storage for essential website functions:

  • Authentication cookies: to keep you signed in to your account.
  • Cart storage:your shopping cart is stored in your browser's local storage so it persists between visits.
  • Preference storage: newsletter popup dismissal and similar interface preferences may be stored in your browser.

You can control cookies and local storage through your browser settings, but disabling them may affect login, checkout, and cart functionality. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide the store, fulfill orders, keep business records, and satisfy legal, tax, accounting, and security obligations. Specifically:

  • Account information is retained until you request deletion.
  • Order records are retained for accounting and legal compliance purposes.
  • Contact form and quote request submissions are generally retained for up to 12 months unless needed for an active project, customer support, legal, or business record reason.
  • Newsletter signup records are retained until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
  • Security logs and technical records may be retained as needed to protect the website and investigate abuse or errors.

7. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of certain personal information. You may also have the right to object to or limit certain processing, opt out of marketing messages, or appeal a decision we make about a privacy request where applicable. You can contact us to request:

  • Correction of inaccurate or incomplete account or order information
  • Deletion of personal information, subject to order, tax, security, legal, or accounting retention requirements
  • Unsubscribe from marketing or newsletter communications

8. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction. This includes HTTPS, managed authentication, database access controls, row-level security policies, service-provider security controls, and limiting administrative access.

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

Our website and services are not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us so we can promptly remove it.

10. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal. There is not currently a uniform industry standard for responding to these signals, so our website does not respond to them at this time.
